Mr. Schunicht has been endorsed by Marquis Who’s Who as a leader in the fields of political science, microbiology and military
MELBOURNE, FL, May 7, 2018 — Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Shannon A. Schunicht with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Schunicht celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A retired U.S. Army Officer who served his country for seven years, Mr. Schunicht is educated in both political science and microbiology. Most recently affiliated with the American Association of Physics Teachers in Jacksonville, Fla. and with the University of Syracuse as a physics teacher, he has since been traveling the country, visiting universities as a public speaker specializing in mnemonic writings.
After crashing his military airplane in 1985 and spending three weeks in a coma, he had to relearn physics all over again. Using a form of shorthand to turn words into acronyms, Mr. Schunicht can then turn the words back into equations.

A longtime member of the organization, he has also maintained involvement with the International Leprosy Association.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and political science at Florida State University in 1983 and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and biology at Texas A&M University in 1994, Mr. Schunicht is is also a certified real estate agent in Texas. Honored with a Royal Society of Sciences in Uppsala Award in 2010, he has been cited in over 30 editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in American Politics and Who’s Who in the World.
